Silica sol can be used as an auxiliary for wool sizing. When the fiber is treated with silica sol, the fiber is rich in hydrophilicity due to the action of hydroxyl groups on the surface of SiO2, and it is less likely to generate static electricity and less dust. Silica sol is also used as a binder for electrostatic flocking.
